Authors from across the nation entertain participants with insights into their work. Through the generosity of David M. Rubenstein, the Library of Congress Literacy Awards recognize and help organizations that have made outstanding contributions to growing literacy within the United States or abroad. The Literacy Awards program encourages the persevering with improvement of innovative strategies and is intended to draw public attention to the significance of literacy. The program was established in 2013 and is run by the Library’s Center for Learning, Literacy and Engagement.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a e-book gifting program that mails free books to youngsters from start to age 5 in collaborating communities within the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland. The National Book Festival is the Library’s annual celebration of books and studying.
Patricia Holland, a studying instructor at Fine Elementary in Pennsauken, mentioned the free books would permit her to let each student in her class pick a e-book to keep. She was excited to discover a Pete the Cat guide, a favourite amongst her college students.
